Am 24. April 2025 hat der Ausschuss für Human-Arzneimittel der EMA (CHMP) den Entwurf einer vollständig neu gefassten ICH-Richtlinie Q1 zur Stabilitätsprüfung von Arzneimittelwirkstoffen und Arzneimitteln zur öffentlichen Konsultation veröffentlicht. Die Konsultationsfrist läuft bis zum 30. Juli 2025.
Dieser Leitlinienentwurf wird nach Finalisierung die ICH-Leitlinien Q1A–F und Q5C ersetzen. Damit geht eine umfassende regionenübergreifende Harmonisierung der Anforderungen an Stabilitätsstudien einher, die damit auch mit aktuellen wissenschaftlichen und regulatorischen Anforderungen abgeglichen werden. Der Entwurf enthält aktualisierte und umfassende Leitlinien zu den Grundsätzen und allen Aspekten der Stabilitätsprüfung für synthetische und biologische Arzneimittelwirkstoffe und Arzneimittel sowie ATMPs; einschließlich der Stabilität neuartiger Hilfsstoffe und Adjuvantien. Er enthält auch risikobasierte Ansätze für die Entwicklung von Stabilitätsstrategien, die über den gesamten Produktlebenszyklus hinweg anwendbar sind.
Nach Finalisierung wird die neue Leitlinie mit einer Übergangsfrist von 6 Monaten in Kraft treten, weshalb es unbedingt notwendig ist, sich schon heute mit geänderten und ergänzten Anforderungen zu beschäftigen.
