Novel Food - Neuartige Lebensmittel: Schwerpunkt Botanicals
In der Absicht, die Sicherheit der Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher in der EU zu stärken, wurden bereits 1997 die ersten gesetzlichen Regelungen erlassen, ein umfassender Relaunch erfolgte 2018. Innovative Zutaten, Produkte und Verfahren müssen seither auf den Prüfstand gestellt werden. Neben der Stichtagsregelung spielen dabei die verschiedenen Lebensmittelkategorien eine Rolle, darunter Pflanzen, Algen, Pilze und ihre Verarbeitungsformen, die Botanicals.
Durch die große Vielfalt an Lebensmitteln, je nach Ursprung, Verarbeitung, Zusammensetzung und Verwendungszweck, erfordert die Prüfung auf Neuartigkeit sowohl systematische als auch individuelle und fantasievolle Ansätze. Der Frage „Ist mein Lebensmittel neuartig?“ sollte sich daher jeder verantwortliche Lebensmittelunternehmer stellen.

Zielgruppe: Dieses Webinar bietet einen Einstieg in die Thematik „Novel Food“ für alle, die sich im Rahmen der Entwicklung und Herstellung von Lebensmitteln mit neuen Zutaten und Verfahren beschäftigen. Es spricht gleichermaßen Technologen, Ernährungswissenschaftler, Pharmazeuten, Lebensmittelchemiker und schließlich die verantwortlichen Unternehmer an. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Botanicals, die Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln und anderen Lebensmitteln wie Getränken aus ernährungsphysiologischen Gründen zugesetzt werden sollen.
