Neue Vorgaben für synthetische Polymermikropartikel (Mikroplastik) und Konsequenzen bei Verwendung nicht-natürlicher Polymere in Hilfsstoffen und Arzneimitteln
Eines der Themen, die in den arzneimittelrechtlichen Vorgaben zu Verunreinigungen fehlen, jedoch beachtet werden müssen, sind die EU-Vorgaben für Mikroplastik und die damit verbundenen Obliegenheiten hinsichtlich sachgemäßer Handhabung und Dokumentation. Im September 2022 veröffentlichte die Europäische Kommission einen Verordnungsentwurf zur Änderung des Anhangs XVII der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 1907/2006 hinsichtlich der Verwendung synthetischer Polymermikropartikel, nachdem die Europäische Chemikalienagentur (ECHA) im Jahr 2020 einen Vorschlag zur Beschränkung des Anhangs XV über absichtlich zugesetztes Mikroplastik veröffentlicht hatte. Welche Auswirkungen haben diese Vorgaben auf pharmazeutische Hilfsstoffe, Arzneimittel und die Qualifizierung von Lieferanten von Wirk- und Hilfsstoffen.
