Entwicklungsprojekte für pflanzliche Wirkstoffe und Arzneimittel sind komplexe Projekte. Diese bedürfen einer sorgfältigen Planung und diese wiederum erfordert interdisziplinäre Teams und umfassenden Sachverstand und Kenntnis der regulatorischen Anforderungen.
Die bestehenden Risiken bedürfen einer umfassenden Evaluierung und Bewertung. Risken können sich insbesondere in der Lieferkette der pflanzlichen Ausgangsmaterialen ergeben; sie betreffen aber auch Vor- und Nachteile unterschiedlicher Typen von Zubereitungen, Auswahl von Leitsubstanzen und die entsprechende Kontrollstrategie, Auslobung von Wirkstoffen oder wertbestimmenden Inhaltsstoffen, Abgrenzungskonzepte GACP |GMP II | GMP I sowie regulatorische und strategische Aspekte.
