was appointed Head of the German Cannabis Agency of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) in Bonn in 2017. He also holds the positions of Head of Division Licensing 4 and Vice-President at the BfArM. He has served as a member or chair in various committees or working groups in the field of herbal and traditional medicinal products at EMA, EDQM and WHO. In 2012, he was appointed Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology at the University of Bonn, and since 2019 he has been Head of the Pharmaceutical Department "Drug Regulatory Affairs" at the University of Bonn.
