who holds a doctorate in natural sciences, completed his degree in pharmacy and his PhD at the University of Münster. Since 2001, he has held a professorship at Ovidius University in Constanţa, Romania, where he supervises projects and lectures on phytotherapy, phytopharmacy, medicinal plant cultivation and quality assurance of herbal medicines. Since 2013, he has been working at Max Zeller Söhne AG in Romanshorn as a Scientific Expert in Analytical Development and, also since 2013, has been a member of the Phytochemistry Expert Group of the Swiss Pharmacopoeia. Until his retirement in 2024, Dr Schenk was a member of the Phytopharmaceuticals Committee at the Federal Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (BAH) in Bonn, Germany, and simultaneously a member of the BAH’s Contaminants Working Group.
He has also been a member of the Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids Working Party since 2017 and, since 2023, of the Pesticides Working Party of the European Pharmacopoeia, EDQM/Strasbourg.
