is Head of the Pharmacopoeia Department at Swissmedic in Bern. He studied pharmacy at the University of Basel and obtained his PhD in 1994. After several years in industry, he joined the Swiss Medicines Agency as an inspector and assessor of operating licences, where he took over as Head of the Pharmacopoeia Division in 2008. He chairs the Swiss Pharmacopoeia Commission and heads the Swiss delegation to the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, which he chaired from June 2016 to June 2019.
