obtained his doctorate as a pharmacist at the Chair of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with a thesis on molecular biological and analytical methods for elucidating the biosynthesis of 5β-cardenolides in Digitalis lanata. During his two years of working in quality control at PhytoLab, he gained extensive knowledge of the regulatory requirements for herbal medicinal products and foodstuffs. He has gained in-depth insights into the field of pharmacopoeial analysis by working on projects of the Expert Group 13 B of the Ph. Eur. and the Pharmaceutical Biology Expert Committee of the German Pharmacopoeia Commission. Moreover he is responsible for narcotics and medicinal cannabis at PhytoLab.
