is a pharmacist with a doctorate in pharmaceutical biology from the University of Münster. His dissertation, which he completed summa cum laude, deals with the development of methods for the analysis of tannins and the characterisation of novel alkaloids obtained from lime blossoms. Dr. Symma has extensive knowledge of the manufacture of medicinal products and pharmacy law as well as national and European legislation on medicinal products. Among other professional activities, he has worked as a pharmacist and project manager and has been a consultant for complementary and alternative medicines at Pharma Deutschland e.V. (formerly German Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, BAH) since 2023. In this role, he advises manufacturers of herbal, homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products on all regulatory and political issues.
