He is a pharmacist and completed his doctorate at the University of Regensburg in the field of pharmaceutical biology under Prof. Jörg Heilmann. His research focused on the characterisation and analysis of phenolic constituents from a traditionally used medicinal plant. Through his work in quality control and as a Qualified Person at PhytoLab, he has extensive knowledge of the regulatory requirements for herbal medicinal products and foodstuffs, as well as the analysis of pesticides and contaminants in these products. He gains deeper insights into the field of phytopharmaceuticals as a member of various working groups of Pharma Deutschland, such as the Contaminants Working Group, and as a member of the EDQM Working Group on Pesticides.
