After completing his commercial training and studying law, Dr. Geschwandtner was an assistant to Prof. Dr. Volker Beuthien at the Institute for Cooperative Studies in Marburg for several years. This is where he obtained his doctorate in cooperative, auditing and banking supervisory law. He has been a solicitor since 2006 and a partner at Dr. Fandrich Rechtsanwälte (Attorneys at Law) since 2013, as well as Head of the Bonn site.
In addition, he founded the consulting company "growUp!consulting" in 2023, which specialises in sustainable business practices, healthcare and health management. Since June 2025, he has also been chairman of the board of "Circular Hemp e.V. ", which he co-founded.
As editor of the new commentary Geschwandtner/Graf/Sobota – Cannabis Law (KCanG (Act on the Handling of Cannabis for Non-Medical Use), MedCanG (Medicinal Cannabis Act)), he provides a comprehensive explanation of the KCanG regulations on marketing authorisation and monitoring as well as other topics.
