After leading a large contract laboratory, he heads the microbiology and hygiene department at the Romeis Institute in Bad Kissingen. His main areas of work are applied industrial hygiene, microbiological quality control, consulting and industrial hygiene training. The University of Applied Sciences Fulda granted him the lectureship on microbiological topics in 2012-2015. In 2013, Dr. Beckmann received the Wallhäußer Award. With this award, the jury honored his life's work in the field of microbiology. Since 2014, he is a permanent correspondent of the journal "Die pharmazeutische Industrie" with more than 150 publications, is a book author as well as a regular speaker at various events.
