What are phytopharmaceuticals?

The term "phytopharmaceuticals" basically refers to herbal medicinal products. This means that their action is based on products made from plants or parts of plants, such as extracts, distillates or pressed juices. Herbal medicinal products can be taken as capsules, tablets, coated tablets, teas, drops, ointments or juices. It should be noted that an active ingredient is not considered to be the herbal active ingredient of a medicine if it contains an isolated single substance.
